When large leaves are the whole problem
Some yards drop one kind of debris and almost nothing else. If broad leaves from oaks and maples are what fills your gutters, you do not need the most fine-grained protection on the market. You need something that turns the leaves away and stays out of the way of the water.

What we install
Our small-hole, 1/16 inch powder-coated steel screens are a great option where trees with larger leaves are the main concern. They come in both 5 inch and 6 inch options, so they fit either of our gutter sizes.
They are an economical choice while being a higher grade than what you will find at big box stores. A screen is only as good as its fit, so we measure each run and set it to the gutter rather than laying a roll over the top.
The screen also keeps the gutter easy to reach. Because it is a fitted panel and not a sealed cover, a crew can lift a section, look underneath and put it back, which matters on the day a downspout does need attention.
Chapter 03
Where a screen is not enough
A screen will not stop finer debris. If pine needles or roof grit are what you fight, the micro-mesh guard is the better fit, and we would rather say that up front than install a screen that does not solve your problem.
